Life is busy....

Life is busy...really busy!  Over the last month, Micah got his cast off and is running around like a crazy person, Jesse celebrated his 6th birthday (and had a kicking Star Wars party...details to follow shortly) school is winding down, we're planning a huge vacation with extended family, and I have been feverishly attempting to get enough inventory and a display together to have a table at a local festival.

Well, that festival came and went this Saturday, and after the initial anxiety passed when we finally got set up, and the people started to trickle into my tent, I fell into a happy rhythm of demonstrating and educating about needle felting and slowly selling bits of crafty goodness.  Overall, I am quite pleased with the day.  I got to meet and talk to a bunch of awesome people, including some of my amazing friends, and I had the opportunity to share my passion for fiber arts with some folks who didn't know needle felting existed.  I'll leave you with a few photos of my set up....

The whole tent

Boys snacking on cheesy popcorn from a booth across from us
Vintage suitcase goodness, filled with super fun composition books

A bit of the bunting
I used an oatmeal container, covered with pretty paper for a headband display
Cupcakes of the non-edible variety
Felted gnomes
Rock and shell collecting bags
My favorite part of the display....felted flower bobby pins hung on vintage lace
Jess and me, right before the onslaught of people.  (Notice Jess's cheesy fingers?!)  LOVE him! (Micah's in the wagon, watching "The Lion King.")

OH!  And how could I forget!?  I want to shout out a big "THANK YOU!!!!" to all of my friends who came out to visit and support me Saturday!!!  I am so blessed!!!!

  5. Amy, your booth looks absolutely gorgeous. You have so many great display ideas in play--I love the old suitcase, the shutters, the oatmeal can, the lace for the hair clips. I think the journals and the hair clips are my favorite, although it's hard for anything to compete with your owls and birds. Very well done, sister! I am so proud of you for putting all this together and putting yourself out there.

  6. Oh...and I was thinking...it's possible that you didn't sell a lot of bunting because it looks a little like it's a decoration for your booth as opposed to something that's for sale. Maybe next time in addition to hanging some, you could have some folded up in little bundles on the table.
