A Blanket for Micah

It is very easy to knit a complete a baby blanket in a couple of days when you have nothing else to do. I tweaked the Big Bad Baby Blanket pattern from Stitch n' Bitch to fit the amazing cradle that Jared's dad made (pictures of the cradle will come later if I can ever finish the bumper pads). I used Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in pumpkin, and I love the way it turned out!

The Blessings of Bedrest

This has been the craziest couple of days! Last weekend I just didn't feel right, and by Monday when I went to the doctor, I was having contractions every 3 minutes. My local hospital doesn't have a level III nursery, so they shipped me off to MUSC (2 hours away from home!!!) so that they could hopefully stop the contractions. And that brings us to today....I'm currently 26 weeks and a few days pregnant, and baby Micah really wants to meet his family! But thanks to the awesome doctors and nurses here at MUSC, baby is still safely inside my growing belly! The trade-off is that I'm on bedrest and a bunch of medications to stop my contractions. And although being on bedrest so far away from home is a bit of a bummer, I'm making the best of the situation. For one thing, I can't stop knitting!

New Name

Hooray for new beginnings! Like I've said before, my life is changing like crazy right now, and I needed a blog name that represented all of me (not just felting). So, the new blog will be "Made for You by Amy Plew!" I hope to post more, and I have lots of new ideas bouncing around in this brain of mine. I can't wait to share these ideas with you!
